My New Year's Resolutions

It's 2011! Hope everyone has a wonderful new year and enjoy everyday!

What have I done since Zeke's birthday party? So much to share and so little time! The important thing is we are all doing well in the paradise. I hope we will have more fun adventures in the new year to share with you!

Resolutions? Me? I always think I am perfect the way I am, but mommy wants me to list all the things that she wants me to change. I cannot guarantee, but I will try my best to make my parents proud.

1. I will try to eat more.

2. I will learn to love Zeke.

3. I will play with my friends and invite them to more pool parties.

4. I will enjoy water sports.

5. I will be nice to other doggies and their humans.

6. I will smile more. (Can't you see I am really trying?)

7. I will exercise regularly.

8. I will not be a runaway kid.

9. I will make more new friends.

Mokuleia Beach

Mokuleia Beach is such a beautiful beach that I just have to share with you.

If you are tired of the beaches full of people, this is the choice for you. Although it's a longer drive than some popular beaches, I think it's totally worth visiting if you like to see beautiful white sands with soothing ocean breeze. Sometimes you can see some wildlife too. A few times, we saw sea turtles and Monk seals. Yesterday, we actually saw a school of sting rays close to the shore, and it was so cool! Luckily we were not in the water at the time! I would be so scared if they are swimming right next to me!

Mokuleia Beach is also popular for kite-surfers, including my daddy.

Daddy set up a tent for us to relax and enjoy the beach before he went kite-surfing.

We are happy in the tent.

When I see a dog walking by, I just cannot help but saying hello by barking at him!

Da Kine Canine Festival

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! My parents took us to a doggie event, Da Kine Canine Festival in Kailua. It was a fun day!!

We were waiting for our friends to arrive. Cocojor's cooling mat really keeps us cool under the hot Hawaiian sun.

Here are the 7 things about me:

1. I love being the only child in the family. Sorry Zeke. I know mommy and daddy want you to keep me company, but sometimes I just like to have all of their attention.

2. I love human food, and dislike any food that's made for dogs. Sometimes I do hunger strikes, just so my parents get the point!

3. I love fashion. It's fun to dress up! Daddy said I have more clothes then him!

4. Recently I had a fun pool party on my birthday and I loved it. I hope I'll have another one really soon!

5. I don't like kids. Kids usually fall in love with me when they see me, but I am just annoyed by them sometimes. Maybe it's because they touch me too much, and I don't enjoy that!

6. I love being carried in a bag, any bag. One time mommy took me out for a walk, and a lady stopped us to talk to us. When she put her purse down, I jumped right in. Mommy thought I was trying to run away with this lady. The truth is I just love bags!

7. Talking about bags, I think I have at least 10 doggie bags. As a diva, you always don't have enough bags!

My 8th Birthday Party

August 10 was my 8th Birthday. If you look at my profile, you could see that I have changed my age from 7 to 8 years old. Oh my! Can you tell I am 8 already?! Some people say I still look like a puppy, but I am a "full" grown lady! Now let's celebrate it and don't call me puppy again!

Chihuahua Olympics 2010

Yup! It's that time of the year again. Every August, the Chihuahua Club of Hawaii hosts its annual Chihuahua Olympics to showcase the fun of playing and socializing with Chihuahuas. This year has no exceptions. It was a beautiful Sunday!

Even though I didn't play as much as before, I still would like to share all the fun pictures with you.

I just love this "Beware of Chihuahua" sign. Watch out! We might be tiny, but we are mighty Chihuahuas.

FIDO Friendly Magazine “Show Us Your Tongues”

Mommy received an e-mail today that our picture received an honorable mention in the FIDO Friendly magazine contest, “Show Us Your Tongues!”

Thanks to the Road Dogs who let us know about the contest! Actually, I was really surprised because they have like 400 entries in the contest. How lucky we are!!

This is the picture mommy entered into the contest. Although I think if she listened to the Road Dogs and submitted the picture at the top of my blog, we might be one of the winners. hahaha! Mommy said any of our pictures is as cute as a button!

This Mother's Day weekend we were having fun shopping at the annual Hawaii Pet Expo. Mommy got us so many goodies, new outfits, accessories, and yummy treats!

This is our Chihuahua Club booth. We are so proud to be on the label of the hot sauce for the club's fundraiser.

We are also proud to be in the Hawaii Pet Magazine summer issue for the new pet-friendly Aqua Waikiki Pearl and Aqua Waikiki Wave Hotels.

I can't wait to stay in the Aqua hotel with mommy and daddy! I am sure we'll have so much fun in Waikiki!

Our Gifts from Taiwan

Wherever mommy and daddy travel, they always go to local pet stores and look for gifts for me and Zeke. Mommy said everything was so expensive in Japanese pet stores, so they saved money and had some good finds in Taiwan. Because of economic improvements, people are more into pets now than before, they saw a lot of huge pets stores there. Some of them are as big as Petco. The thing is, it was Winter when they went there, and all they saw was Winter outfits! I am still very happy that mommy didn't forget about us and got us a lot of goodies when they were away!!

Look at all the gifts mommy and daddy got us from Taiwan! Including the outfits we are wearing!

Some of them are for our dear friends!

Hawaii Pet Magazine

It has been a while since my last update on the blog. To make long story short; my parents had gone on a vacation to Japan and Taiwan for two and a half weeks and left us at Aunty Claire's. I was so happy when they finally came home because there's no place like our home sweet home!

Mommy and daddy bought us some presents, but since mommy got sick on her first few days home, we didn't get a chance to see what we would get until today. I will share what our presents are next time.

While mommy and daddy were away, we heard a good news that one of the Hawaii's well known pet magazine has picked us as their cover models for their Spring issue. It was a nice surprise! If you are interested in reading the magazine, here is the link: Hawaii Pet Magazine

The picture was taken when we went hiking at Hawaii Kai, Mariner's Ridge the day before Christmas. It was such a beautiful day, and mommy took plenty pictures of us up there.

New Car Seat

Finally! Daddy installed our new car seat, which we got for Christmas, in mommy's Mini Cooper. I am so excited and cannot wait to go for a ride in it!!

After a short stop at the Temple, we arrived at the Kualoa Beach Park near Chinamans Hat. Chinamans Hat is a little island that looks like a traditional Chinese hat. It is a perfect place for swimming and canoeing!

Valley of the Temples

I have to say that we are so lucky to live in Hawaii! Our new year started with clear sky and beautiful sunshine. It's perfect for going to the beach! It was Saturday, and Daddy said he wanted to try out his new inflatable canoe, so we decided to head north to Kualoa Beach in Kaneohe, where the water is warm and calm.

Before we head down to the beach, we stopped by the Valley of the Temples to pray for blessings in the new year.

It's such a beautiful temple.

They have some of the biggest Koa fish I have ever seen!

They have some cute black swans in the water too. So peaceful!

We are taking a little break here.

Mommy said I can make a wish next to the Budda.

Zeke is getting excited about the new adventure!

It is getting late, so I will continue to share our canoeing experience next time. Have a good night!

New Year's Day 2010

It was a beautiful sunny day on the first Day of 2010, perfect for a fun beach day! Daddy and mommy took us to the beach near our home.

Whenever we go out, Zeke always likes to stay in the bag and be carried.

I don't mind sitting on the beach and have a little sun tan with mommy and daddy.

Mommy's lap is always my favorite.

We took plenty pictures by the beach.

I feel like a supermodel!

We also have our beachwear on for the fun day.

I am wearing a sun dress, and Zeke is wearing a t-shirt that says "Wagging, Sniffing, Barking" on his back. Thanks to Aunty Tena and Karen for the lovely outfits.

We saw some cute Monk Seals enjoying their swim in the ocean! Backstroke style!

We had a really fun Halloween this year! Check out all the pictures and you'll know what I mean!!

This was taken at the Hawaiian Humane Society's Halloween Costume Contest a week before Halloween. Mommy found out about the event the day before and decided to check out the dog park there. She was hoping that we would win the grand prize. It's something that she always wanted to experience.

It's a small park with a lovely waterfalls and a pool. The weather was so muggy that a lot of dogs just jumped into the pool. They were having a good time!

Then, the contest started. There were so many dogs in all kinds of cute costumes.

Mommy and daddy actually dressed up too with us, but they are too shy to show the picture. When they announced the winner of the grand prize, we were all so happy!! Yeah, we get to stay in a new pet friendly hotel in Waikiki for a night!!

We went to another pet event at Koko Marina Shopping Center on Halloween to meet friends in Chiuahua Club of Hawaii. It was a much bigger and crowded event. So many people and so many adorable dogs. There were total 80 some dogs entered into the costume contest. Wow!!

She dressed as a Gypsy and joked that she was our servant. hehehe

It was a crazy night in Waikiki. The whole place turned into a huge costume party that went on many blocks!

Anyways, the feather bed was so comfy that I couldn't argue more.

It only took us a second to fall asleep.

Da Kine Canine Festival

Labor Day weekend mommy and daddy took us to Da Kine Canine Festival in Kailua town.

We were invited to be models for Cocojor Hawaii, a local doggie apparel company with cool outfits.

Here we are driving to the beach with fashionable beach wear.

After the fashion show, we entered a costume contest. There were three categories; funnest, cutest, and most original. Can you guess which one we were in?

Everyone was smiling when they saw us in our little wedding outfits, including the judges.

I was grouchy that day and didn't want to play nice with Zeke.

A lady asked mommy if we were really just married. Hahaha! No way I am marrying Zeke.

It was a tough competition with so many adorable doggies and their owners.

Mommy and daddy were so happy when they announced that we won the first place of the Cutest costume!

I know we look cute together, but I am still not marrying Zeke!!

We took a walk at the beach by Diamond Head Lookout last Sunday. It was such a beautiful day. Actually, it's pretty beautiful here everday!

We saw one of the Hawaiian most famous locals. A Hawaiian Monk Seal! He is so cute! When we walked by, he lifted his head, looked at us for a second, and then went back to sleep.

What a surprise at the beach! Hope we can see him more often.

Mommy and Daddy took us to Kauai for a family vacation. Kauai is known as the Garden Island and it sure is beautiful and full of adventures.

The hardest part of the trip is to get up in the morning and do fun things.

New Friend - Chewy

Mommy is helping her friend take care of a family pet for one and half weeks. It's a Guinea Pig named Chewy.

Chewy has really funky long hair that makes him look like a hippi.

He has a cute little face.

He was scared when Zeke barked at him. Zeke thinks he is a little toy that moves.

I like his hair.

He loves to hide inside the hut.

Mommy and Daddy let him out in the yeard everyday to get some sun.

He loves to eat grass.

Mommy said I can play with Chewy, but I was shy and I didn't want to scare him.

Daddy really likes Chewy!

Mardi Gras Doggy Party

Mommy and Daddy took us to the doggie nighclub at Aloha Tower on Saturday. As you can see, the theme is Mardi Gras, so we all dressed up for the party.

There were so many cute dogs and friendly people at the doggie nightclub. We also entered some casting calls of model search for local pet businesses. By the time they started the Mardi Gras Costume Contest, it was 10:30! What a fun night!

Fun Weekend

We went to Kailua Beach Last Saturday because daddy wanted to go kitesurfing there. The beach was full of people!

I like to walk around and check out the smell of the beach.

The next day, we went hiking at St. Luis Heights.

We might be small, but we are good hikers.

Finally, it's time to take a break!

Visiting the nursing home is one of our favorite Chihuahua club events. It feels so nice to see the residents smile. Chihuahua love is so mighty!

On Mother's Day 2008, my mommy and daddy went to the Pet Expo and met with Zeke's breeder, Lorene. A week before that, she called mommy and asked if there was anyone who would like to take Zeke home. She had a few Chihuahuas at that time, and the boys were just not getting along. She finally decided to let Zeke go and wished to find a good home for him. Mommy was excited and told daddy about it. Daddy was even more excited than mommy, and he wanted to take Zeke home right away. He said I have been home by myself too much when both him and mommy were at work. He wanted to find a companion for me. Before I realized what was going on, mommy and daddy brought Zeke home on that day.

Zeke was two years old and very playful. I was not used to that, but I let him have all my toys. He showed a lot of affection, and right away mommy and daddy were in love with him. He is a real mama's boy, and always follows her everywhere. He likes to play with me too, but I didn't really like that in the beginning. I am a big girl and not a goofy little kid like him. As time went by, I started to like him little bit. I guess I have to accept the fact that he is going to stay with us. Now we play all the time, and it makes mommy and daddy very happy.

Zeke turned one year old.

He was almost as big as his mother.

Zeke at the Pet Expo. What a nice looking boy! No wonder mommy likes him so much.

Zeke is only three years old, but he already retired from being a professional show dog. He was in so many dog shows to compete with other good looking Chihuahuas. I used to be into the dog show too, but it was too much for me. It's a lot of work and takes so much to become the best show dog.

He was often a winner.

Zeke got his major, which put him on the way to becoming a champion.

When I Was Young

In 2002, my mommy and daddy went to my breeder for a short hair Chihuahua, but when they saw me, it was love at the first sight. It didn't matter if my hair was short or long. They brought me home on the same day.

This was taken on my first day home.

I was three month old and had little hair.

My ears were huge for a little puppy!

I had a big black stripe on my back, so mommy always said I looked like a Squirrel.

Sometimes she said I looked like a baby Kangaroo.

I think I am a little lady.

I was really shy when I was little.

Mommy loved to take my pictures, but I was really camera shy for some reasons.

I was also a skinny girl, but I loved to eat.

My favorite things were eat, sleep, play, and sleep some more.

I was only 1.4 pounds and could fit in my mommy's pocket!

I learned how to smile in front of the camera.

Now I am all grown up. Time flies when you are having fun!

On Christmas Day, Daddy wanted to go kitesurfing, so he took us to Kailua Beach. The weather was so nice!

He gave Zeke a little football and played with him in the park.
